Muslim Youth Network presents:

ONE DAY COURSE – INTRODUCTION TO MUSLIM WOMEN YOUTH WORK

Delivered by
Ustadah Selina Begum, Beacon Institute*
Aston-Mansfield, JNC Qualified Youth Workers*

Date: Saturday 12th December 2009
Time: 10am – 4pm (followed by lunch and networking)
Venue: Froud Centre, Romford Road, Manor Park, London, E12 5JF

More than half the Muslim community are women, yet hardly any youth
provisions or expertise exists for young Muslim girls and women.
They are not ‘cocooned’ from drug abuse, relationships, sexual
issues or even crime. But who and where do they turn to for advice
and support when most mainstream organisations or mosques have
neither the resources nor the expertise, and sometimes not even
the concern.

This unique one day course is aimed at women who are considering
becoming involved in youth work as a group worker where they can
directly deliver youth activities to young girls. Managers
and programme coordinators who are responsible for Muslim women’s
youth work but with limited experience of working with the young
Muslims would also benefit. This is a practical one day course on Muslim
women’s youth work where you will be doing activities, not talking
about doing them.

All women welcome and free entrance with halal lunch provided. Limited
spaces and booking required.
